Pastor Mae E. Fletcher

Golden Age home board of directors, Member, Ad Hoc Nominating Committee

Mae Fletcher Golden Age Home Board of Directors

Hello, I'm Pastor Mae E. Fletcher, and I serve on the ad hoc nominating committee at Golden Age Home Assisted Living. My most impactful contribution has been offering diverse perspectives on problem-solving, which helps in making well-rounded decisions for the organization.

My journey with Golden Age Home began when I was contacted by the director to represent the United Methodist Church on the board. This role has provided me with a deeper understanding of how GAH is managed and its financial obligations, enhancing my appreciation for the organization's mission.

The most rewarding aspect of being a board member is knowing that Golden Age Home provides affordable housing for those who need assisted living care. It is fulfilling to see our efforts directly benefit the residents who rely on our services.

Although I do not live in Caldwell County, I serve as the pastor of St. Mark’s in Lockhart, TX, and Corinth in Dale, TX. This connection allows me to stay engaged with the community and contribute meaningfully to GAH.

My faith is a central part of my service. As 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, "There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ." Sharing my gifts enriches my life and positively impacts others, aligning with the teachings of the Bible.

Outside of my board responsibilities, I enjoy gardening, traveling, and sewing. These hobbies provide me with a balanced and fulfilling life.

Networking has also played a crucial role in my contributions to GAH. I actively share information about Golden Age Home events with my churches and other organizations, helping to raise awareness and support.

In terms of key business and leadership skills, I bring managerial experience, financial budgeting expertise, and strong leadership capabilities. Before retiring from a government job where I was a manager for over 20 years, I honed these skills, which I now apply as a local pastor in the United Methodist Church.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey with Golden Age Home. If you share our passion for providing compassionate care to seniors and believe in making a tangible difference in our community, we would love to have you on our board. Your unique skills and dedication can help us continue to enrich the lives of our residents. Join us in this rewarding endeavor and become part of our dedicated team.
